4 Common But Useless Fattburning Exercises

I’m shocked that people still think sit-ups done the old-fashioned way actually work the abs. Even worse, most people have been fooled into believing this actually helps get rid of bellyfat.

Nonsense. Bellyfat is burned off when you have a good nutrition plan and through general exercise, not using exercises for the abs. Ab exercises are fine, but guess what?

I never train my abs more than 3-5 minutes. Today my ab workout took 3 minutes and 12 seconds to complete. And my abs are sore!

But without the nutrition plan, forget it… I’d never SEE my abs at all. I’d just have a nice wall of muscle with a bunch of flab covering it up.

A big sets/reps MISTAKE that most make…

This is one of the biggest weight training mistakes I’ve seen over and over again with so many people over the years… it may seem obvious to some advanced trainees, but for most beginner/intermediate people, I’ve noticed that they make this mistake in the gym MOST of the time…

And that has to do with sets and reps, and the intensity that they are performed.

What I’ve noticed is one of the main reasons for lack of progress in the gym is that most people are not performing their reps and sets to challenge their body enough. I’m not referring to rest period between sets either (although that is definitely part of the equation).

I would like to share a little history about me as I have been running a fitness website that ranks in the top 5 results for Google's Fitness Sites search term for over 10 years now.

I had fallen in to the same trap many people do. Little time to work out , not controlling my food intake and sitting at a desk all day long.

Well thanks to my wife Sarah who is a certified personal trainer and Jon Benson I woke up one morning and said "I run a fitness website" how could I have let myself get into this terrible shape without doing something about it.

But my time is very limited these days (and who's isn't ).. Between my full time day job running a warehouse and then long nights at the computer working on the AtoZfitness.com website the weight just kept creeping up on me and before I knew it I had reached an all time weight of 215 lbs.

For me being only 5'8 215 lbs was a heavy weight for me to carry and it showed both in my face and my belly and my cholesterol was over the roof.

Well my buddy Jon Benson had just released a new program called

Moderate-Intensity Exercise May Melt More Pounds

I’ve been preaching the benefits of moderate-intensity cardiovascular activity for burning more body fat for years. I’m not talking about yard work or cleaning your house — I’m talking about brisk walks (especially done fasting first thing in the morning) and other forms of long duration moderate exercise. The routines in Fit Over 40 that I personally give are perfect examples of blending low and high intensity exercise in a way to get the best out of both methods of training.
