What should you eat ?

Yesterday we discussed that you need a nutritional template if you’re truly committed to having the healthiest and most attractive body possible.

A nutritional template just means, a meal plan.

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking they need a SPECIAL PLAN designed to meet their individual needs and that is a MISTAKE, at first.

Eventually you can incorporate some more advanced nutrition techniques but if you’re not flaunting a ripped six-pack, right now, or exuberating all-day energy, you are probably swimming in water too deep.

The two keys of muscle building

Intensity = Immensity

This is the first thing I want to mention in here because it’s
absolutely crucial to muscle building. It also builds on what you
have already learnt about the body’s response to muscular stress.

If you think back, you’ll remember that the body builds muscle due
to increased periodic stress. So it makes sense that to build
maximum muscle, you need to stress your muscles out as much as
possible while you’re in the gym.

A Candle In A Dark Week; Defeating Inflammation

Unless you hitched a ride on NASA’s Lunar Orbiter, you’ve heard the news.

In a single day, we lost two people that almost everyone in this country, if not this world, felt as if they knew personally.

In the same week, there was a candle flickering in the darkness.

A candle fueled by science. By research.

By hope.

We lost Farrah Fawcett to cancer. But this week a promising new cancer drug has a large number of folks highly optimistic.

And of course we lost Michael Jackson. We don’t know why yet. I wonder if we ever will.

Why Cardio Doesn’t Work for Fat Loss

Cardio exercise is such a strange thing. In theory, it should work
so perfectly well for all men and women, but as anyone who has
tried it knows, the practicality of it just doesn’t add up.

After all, some men and women do cardio 6 hours, 9 hours, or more per week, and still have belly fat to burn. On the other hand, it works just fine for others.

British researchers wanted to get more insight into this paradox, and studied 35 overweight men and women, who weren’t previously exercising.

Want a Drink?

And no I don’t mean a cocktail at dinner…

I’m talking about the high sugar, high fructose corn syrup, caramel colored, frappa something, mocha something drinks that most people are drinking all day long. This has to be one of the top reasons most people have such a hard time reaching and maintaining their ideal weight or battling chronic fatigue and other health concerns: They are drinking tons of sugar without even knowing it!

Let’s look at some of the culprits:

Mike Geary’s #1 trick to flatten the stomach while driving…

If you’re already a reader of my Truth about Six Pack Abs manual, then you may already know this trick…

Now I will say that this does NOT increase fat burning, but it CAN help to flatten your stomach by strengthening your deeper transversus abdominis muscles and hence “pulling in” a lazy stomach.

It involves doing something called “ab vacuums”.

I find it a good time to get in the habit of doing daily ab vacuums while driving on your daily commute or another time that would get you in the habit of doing them regularly.

The Land Meat That Rivals Wild Salmon in Omega-3 Content — Grass Fed Beef & Other Grass Fed Meats

I know you’ve heard all of the buzz over the last few years about the health benefits of wild salmon and other fish that have higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids.

However, did you know that there’s a “land meat” that has similar omega-3/omega-6 ratios as wild salmon? In fact, this “land meat” not only contains as much, or even higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids, but without the possible negatives such as heavy metals (mercury, etc) and PCBs that can be found in fish frequently.

I’ve talked about this type of meat before and how it’s one of the healthiest forms of meat you can possibly eat… It’s grass-fed beef and other grass-fed ruminant meats such as bison, buffalo, lamb, and venison.

Interview with Nick Nilsson – Muscle Explosion – 28 Days to Maximum Mass

So today, we’ve got an interview with Nick Nilsson, creator of the training program “Muscle Explosion – 28 Days to Maximum Mass”.

have to say, Nick’s taken a really unique approach to muscle building with this program. Normally, the recommended way to build muscle is a long-term, steady approach. Nick has taken the opposite track…instead of looking at building muscle as a marathon, this program looks at it like a series of short sprints.

I mean, you can see it in the name of the program – 28 Days to Maximum Mass. Now, just to be clear, you won’t go from 120 lb of skin and bones to a 220 lb meat slab in 28 days…but you CAN potentially see gains of 5 to 10 lbs of reasonably lean mass within those 28 days, which is excellent for a mass-building program. Then you repeat the 28 day cycle…

Thank you for visiting the AtoZfitness Article Blog. My name is Lewis and I am the owner and publisher of AtoZfitness.com . I had fallen in to the same trap many people do. Little time to work out , not controlling my food intake and sitting at a desk all day long.

Well thanks to my wife Sarah who is a cpt and Jeff "Commander" Anderson I woke up one morning and said "I run a fitness website" how could I have let myself get into this terrible shape without doing something about it. I even have a home gym but saw it while passing through it going to watch some tv or work on my pc again.

Anyway to make a long story short I decided to enter a fitness challenge contest with Sarah . 12 weeks I told myself I can get structured and I was amazed at the progress I was making. All I needed was some dumbbells and a pull-up bar and I was loosing STEADILY 2 to 3 lbs a week without fail.

The best part of all this was I was actually looking forward to my military style training and for the first time when I came home from work I was getting into the gym 3 days a week without fail. I guess the progress in the weight loss was the best motivation a person can have to continue and persevere.

On a side note my cholesterol levels lowered so much with the 35lb fat loss my Doctor decided I do not need cholesterol medication.

So my dear visitor you are here because you are looking for great fitness articles and information which is available here on my blog. But take a moment and check out http://combatyourownfat.com and see if this great system appeals to you as much as it did to me.

p.s. I am happy to say 7 months later I still have kept off the 35lbs I lost and I continue to train with Jeff's military style training and I have NEVER gotten bored as each level of workouts challenge you to want to continue.

The TRUTH About Empty Stomach Cardio

Over the weekend I hit the gym with my buddy John for a morning cardio workout.

Now, I say “cardio”, but really it was a metabolic resistance training session.

If you’re unfamiliar with the term, the simple definition for metabolic resistance training is “cardio with weights”. We’ll cover this more in detail in another update so as not to get too off topic.

So we’re about 10 minutes into the workout and John looks like he’s in pretty bad shape (despite being in really GOOD shape). So I asked him what the deal was.

“I didn’t eat anything for breakfast.”

Me: Why the heck not?
