Mother’s Passing Halts Rob Youells’ Career

Rob-Youells

The world of bodybuilding has seen some dedicated legends. But oftentimes the loss of someone puts a question mark on everything you do, making you question everything. This is particularly true for Robert “Rob” Youells, an IFBB pro bodybuilder, whose career halted when his mother passed away in 2013.

The loss of Ruth Johanna Youells, Rob’s mother, put a hold on Robert’s career. Competing in championships, both national and international, for more than 10 years, Robert has had a successful bodybuilding career. Starting from National Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Championships in 2004, Robert has secured 3rd position five times, 2nd position four times, and 1st position 2 times in his career.

Being steadfast in his goals, Robert came back strong in 2014, when he won the ‘Masters Over 35 Overall’, earning a pro card from the federation, one year after his mother’s demise. Rob’s dedication and hard work in achieving the heights teaches us volumes. Turning grief into motivation is powerful, something that requires sheer willpower and dedication.

Robert has not made himself stop there. He also modeled for various publications, including Vogue. He is an actor, appearing in Saturday Night Live, and several movies. He is also a voice actor, and has voiced ‘Evan Moss’, a character from the famous Rockstar Games’ “Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony”. The extraordinary resume of Robert makes him a force to reckon with.

Moreover, Robert has established himself as a writer. Contributing to Muscle and Fitness Magazine, a famous magazine among fitness enthusiasts, Robert shares his thoughts on the platform. From talking about gym culture to giving his thoughts on Fifty Shades of Grey, Robert has a way of engaging his fans on topics important to him. Though once grief-stricken, Robert has successfully carved himself into the man he is today; successful and accomplished.
