Swine Flu – a good reason to stay lean !

I want to share something with you today. There’s a lot more to be said on the subject, such as the suspected and partly proven origins of the “swine” flu, but for now I just want you to be aware of a couple of little things.

It seems that the US is planning on mandatory vaccination … what, at gun-point? How else are they going to force people? Threaten to take their homes, cars, kids away? I don’t know, and I hope Canada never gets an idea that wild, but in case it does come to forced vaccination, here’s what the Health Ranger has to say about what you can do to minimize the risks involved with the “vaccine” (apparently a good worse than the evil it’s supposed to combat):

Well, if you didn’t have a good reason to get lean before, I’d say this is pretty motivating! I’ve noticed that every time someone dies from this H1N1 virus, the journalist will say something to the effect that the person already suffered from other health-related problems, and the age of the deceased is always given as “between 40 and 48” or “between 87 and 92” or “in his 20s”. I can’t help but wonder why the actual age is such a mystery.



Suffice it to say at this point, that the last “regular” flu virus to hit our city last February had me feverish for 24 hours, Lewis for 48, and we were labeled “lucky” by his doctor. I firmly believe we were not “lucky” but too healthy overall for the virus to be allowed to settle. With a healthy immune system, your natural defenses are at the front to combat the bad-guys (germs and viruses) in the early hours, not allowing them to settle in and multiply.

Good nutrition, regular training, sufficient sleep, and a good multi-vitamin (with minerals) will help you get your bodyfat  to a lower level and your immune system to new heights. Combined, you have a healthier body and look great as a bonus.

As you know by now, my sworn favorite is 7MM which I am going to take to the next level (finally, after 18 months) level 2 being 14 minutes, 3 days with cardio and 2 with alternately 3-minute abs and 3-minute calves.

Lewis is still “in the army” with Combat The Fat; and we both eat exclusively by the EODD plans. I vary between the Extreme and one of the Lifestyle Plans, Lewis sticks to Lifestyle 2.

These combinations allow us to enjoy a restaurant a week, at times two, as well as most of our favorite foods. Granted, some of the old favorites no longer seem as palatable as they used to – too sweet, too salty, too greasy – but we have replaced them with new favorites and enjoy them as much as we used to enjoy the old ones.

Whichever your favorite training and nutrition program is, make sure to stay one step ahead of any flu or other virus. You only have one you so take care of it!
