As many of you have heard me say before, I love to be a mad scientist in the kitchen. When healthy eating is your way of life, you’ve got to keep your meals new and interesting which is why I love to experiment with new recipes all the time, making them (of course) Diet Solution approved.

The first recipe is something my husband still likes to make fun of me for. He says it’s “too weird” and “looks gross”…but you know what? I love it! It’s my own creation (at least I think so).

I can’t tell you how many times each week I get the same email. “Isabel, I am doing great on your plan, but every once in a while, I’m still craving sweets!”
I am no different. I especially remember when I was pregnant, not only was I a bit more tired, I also craved sweet foods a lot more than I ever had before (my baby must take after my husband in that department).

I think it’s so funny that many people associate healthy eating with torture.
Last summer I was at my father’s company barbecue. As he introduced me to his fellow co-workers, I must have heard at least a million times “Oh, you’re the nutritionist? I do think if you eat bland, boring and tasteless food every day, yes, that can be torture. Just as feeding someone unhealthy fast food could be considered a form of torture in itself (or slow murder, however you want to define it).

I’ve tried weight watchers on my own, anything that was in the frozen section that was low in fat for losing weight, a high protein diet, Tom Venuto’s meal plan (too much food) I’m sure it works for bodybuilders but that was an era in my life that is long gone.
