I am a true believer in learning from other people. Not just any 'ol people, but people who have really experienced success by overcoming challenges and showing great results in different areas of their lives.
No, I'm not talking about Hollywood celebrities or big time billionaires. I'm talking about the people who are just like you and me. The regular folk who go to work every day, take care of their families and possibly watch some American Idol at night (ok, I don't watch TV, but maybe you do.) Not only do these successes stories help to inspire me to do better in several areas of my own life, but I learn so much about exactly how to make changes just by watching them or reading about their methods. I've used this towards my health & weight loss, my business, and my finances. I only get advice from people who have "been there, done that", not from people who are all talk and no action.
Your health journey can be exactly the same. That is why I have decided to share some of the most incredible Diet Solution success stories with you. Simply so we can see how someone, who may have started out right where you are right now, took their health and their weight and changed it for the better.
That was the case with Shérri Gambrill. She has successfully lost 35 pounds in the last 4 months using the Diet Solution Program. That's not even the best part though. Shérri has an incredible lesson for all of us to learn. One that just may help you put an end to your dieting struggles.
Here are a few questions I asked Shérri:
What diet programs had you tried in the past?
"I have tried L.A. Weight Loss program, Weight Watchers, and Dr. Bridget Chufo/Healthy Performance and The Smart Trial"
(Yup. We've all been there. Trying just about every possible diet and pill out there with no success.)
What were your biggest struggles before starting The DSP?
"My biggest struggles before starting The DSP plan was not being able to eat the right combination of foods, feeling hungry and craving sweets. Also, I would take the weight off, but eventually gain it back and go back to my old eating habits."
(Yeah, been there too. The yo-yo dieting game. Lose a few pounds just to gain them right back plus some more.)
How did you overcome these struggles and how has your life changed?
"I've overcome these struggles by understanding my body type and what types of food combinations work well with my particular body type. I've eliminated sugar out of my diet but that doesn't mean I deprive myself of having something sweet every once in a while (Good for you Shérri. Deprivation is not necessary to see weight loss success). I no longer focus on a specific number in terms of my weight, instead I focus on healthy eating habits which have allowed me to lose 35 lbs thus far while following The Diet Solution Program. What's even more appealing to me is that I don't use the word 'diet' I like to look at it as I have made a lifestyle change with my eating habits."
Ok, stop right there. This is so huge it deserves repeating and something we should all read over and over again until we can sing it…. I no longer focus on a specific number in terms of my weight. Instead I focus on healthy eating habits which have allowed me to lose 35 lbs… What's even more appealing to me is that I don't use the word 'diet'. I like to look at it as I have made a lifestyle change with my eating habits.
That's it! If we tell ourselves we are on a torture diet or can NOT have this food or that food because we are on a particular diet, we are doomed for failure. The best approach is to follow meal plans you enjoy, are appealing, and satisfying and feel as though it is a way that you can keep eating for a lifetime. This is exactly what I did to lose my weight and keep it off for 9 years and it sounds like the same method has worked for Shérri as well.
Here's one last tidbit Shérri wanted to share:
"It's really funny because I stumbled across The DSP while surfing the net looking for healthy recipes. Since that time (January 3, 2009) I've never looked any further than The DSP.
